High Paying Jobs

Early in our strike the community could not understand how we could ask for $30 an hour in pay.  In Friday’s Elkhart Truth a returning RV workers is glad to get his thirty five dollar an hour job back.  He mentions his insurance was dropped when he got laid off in August of 2008.   I don’t know if building a Bach Strad is more skilled but companies do pay for quality conscience , skilled and devoted workers.

Case for Incentive Pay

Our company would not negotiate on some issues (against the law) one of those issues is hourly pay.  Dwyer Instruments inc. closed down their Puerto Rico and moved production to Wakarusa, Indiana,  they addapted lean manufacturing and “an incentive program, which boosts the hourly rate, encourages workers to exceed the production schedules.”

Why could Conn Selmer not find value in incentive pay?
